Following an initial assessment, the coach employs the rich content of instrumentation, conversation, and observation to assist individuals in formulating action plans. These plans are documented with specifically defined time lines, goals, milestones and measurable performance metrics to assess their progress.
Once learned, these coached individuals proactively share their problem solving, talent leveraging and performance improving techniques throughout their organizational peer networks. They become effective role models as they apply these techniques to the immediate needs.
 
Performance Coaching is a process of guiding individuals into higher performance levels in their chosen roles. Diagnostic instruments are selected to identify the beliefs, attitudes, competencies, strengths and weaknesses of the individual. The performance coach then initiates transformational conversation regarding performance issues in the context of the individual’s unique, complex and demanding work environment. Observation techniques are used to assess interactions with colleagues and to illuminate unused or underused performance potential for both the individual and the organization.
 
Like a garden, talent must be nurtured and cared for to flourish. Why do some individuals thrive and produce in a competitive, high-impact work environment while others wilt? Developmental coaching is the process of guiding individuals in the productive and satisfying growth of their unique talents. A key element in developmental coaching is the evaluation of the degree of fit between these talents and skills and the role the individual is required to fulfill. The coaching process may inaugurate a partial or total redefinition of a specific role the individual is playing or may enhance the individual’s ability to play that particular role.
 
Some individuals become immune to the pain of unsolved work-related problems, while others suffer from chronic stress and powerlessness. Problem coaching is the process of guiding individuals in the proper definition of the scope and contour of work related problems and the selection and implementation of effective solutions. The individual self-interest is used to motivate participation in this process. The problem coach works with individuals to deploy proprietary tactical alliance formation tools and techniques to attack the problem. Risk is managed by identifying multiple and simultaneous angles of attack, thus mitigating the negative effect of failure from any single approach.
